Eli Schragenheim - 3 quick questions.

If you are not in the mood for a podcast then here are 3 questions from Eli Schragenheim.

I'd like to ask you a few things about your background in TOC, what you are currently working on, what you are most proud of, and whether you would ever write a Dilemmas 2 book?

1.  I started working for Dr. Goldratt in 1/1/85.  I got the job described this way:  "A programmer to develop a computer game for adults that will teach them how to think".  Later I went with Eli Goldratt to start Goldratt Institute, became a partner, and resigned in 1991.  Continued to do TOC, consult, teach and develop educational tools.  In 1998 Eli Goldratt asked me to re-join him.  Now I'm part of the Goldratt Group and especially The Goldratt Schools.

2.  I'm most proud when I succeed to convince Eli Goldratt to see certain things my way.  In the last two years Goldratt has formally adopted the notion of Simplified DBR, which Bill and I developed.  He even developed it further, but I'm still quite proud on that.

3.  Dilemmas 2?  I'm not sure.  I might write a full fictional story about management, with more emphasis on drama than on teaching.

Comments

Eli Schragenheim is one of the unsung heroes of the TOC collective. And one of my personal mentors. Along with Bill Dettmer, and both their "What can I do to help?" approaches to life, I have achieved success beyond (even my) expectations.

Goldratt's TOC caught my attention. But it is Dettmer and Schragenheim and sDBR that taught me how to leverage my numerous years in manufacturing for seemingly impossible breakthroughs.

I owe both gentlemen [true gentleman, in every sense of the word] debts that I can never repay.

Just my two Euros: If you are serious about success, study everything that Eli Schragenheim ever wrote.
